The Best Luxury Family Hotels in the Caribbean: Our Expert Edit

Author | Casey Ferguson, Founder of The Family Suite

The Caribbean remains the ultimate luxury family holiday destination. Warm turquoise water, white sand beaches, extraordinary natural beauty and a warmth of hospitality that is unlike anywhere else in the world combine to create holidays that families return to again and again. But with so many islands and properties to choose from, knowing which hotels genuinely deliver at the highest level requires more than a search engine.

At The Family Suite we curate the world's finest hotels for design-conscious families. Here is our expert edit of the Caribbean properties we recommend most.

Tamarind Hills Antigua oceanfront bluff villa with infinity pool and Caribbean Sea views, luxury family resort in Antigua
Rosewood Baha Mar Nassau Cable Beach and resort pool, luxury family hotel in the Bahamas
The Potlatch Club Eleuthera pink sand beach and boutique resort, luxury family hotel in the Bahamas

ANTIGUA

Antigua offers 365 beaches, one for every day of the year according to local legend, and two of our strongest Caribbean recommendations. The island combines natural beauty, excellent accessibility from the UK and a warmth of welcome that consistently surprises first-time visitors.

Carlisle Bay Old Road, Antigua

Nestled along the pristine shores of a horseshoe bay on Antigua's southwest coast, Carlisle Bay is a proud member of the Leading Hotels of the World and one of the finest family resorts in the Caribbean. The 87 spacious beachfront suites allow guests to step directly onto the soft sand and turquoise Caribbean Sea, with dedicated family and couples beach areas, a babysitting service for ages six months and over, and a kids club for ages two years up to early teens.

The resort's extensive facilities include a large swimming pool, a secluded beach and complimentary non-motorised watersports including windsurfing, sailing, paddleboarding, kayaking and snorkelling. Four outstanding restaurants include the celebrated East serving pan-Asian cuisine, Ottimo with its wood-burning pizza oven and the adults-only Jetty Grill on the beachfront. The Blue Spa spreads across an expansive 17,000 square feet with a full programme of holistic treatments, yoga and pilates. A 45-seat cinema completes one of the most comprehensive family offerings of any hotel in the Caribbean.

The Family Suite says: Carlisle Bay is our flagship Antigua recommendation. The combination of the horseshoe bay setting, the extraordinary kids programming, the four restaurants and the spa make this one of the most complete and genuinely family-forward luxury hotels in the entire Caribbean.

Tamarind Hills Ffryes Beach, Antigua

Tamarind Hills is a boutique luxury resort located on an oceanfront bluff with breathtaking views of the Caribbean Sea, set on the stunning west coast of Antigua with access to two white-sand beaches, Ffryes and Darkwood, and featuring a collection of one to five bedroom villas and suites with private infinity pools and Jacuzzi options.

The resort is an SLH member and has been featured by Condé Nast Traveler as one of the best luxury family resorts in the US and Caribbean, with spacious villa configurations that give families genuine room to spread out, a communal Beach Club pool, and easy access to watersports, hiking and sightseeing tours. The Wild Tamarind restaurant delivers fresh, locally inspired cuisine against the backdrop of the Caribbean Sea, while morning yoga and Pilates sessions, massages and beauty treatments provide a restorative wellness dimension.

The Family Suite says: Tamarind Hills is our recommendation for families who want a more private, villa-style Antigua experience. The multi-bedroom villas with private pools, the dual beach access and the boutique scale make this feel genuinely exclusive in a way that larger resorts simply cannot match.

BAHAMAS

Rosewood Baha Mar Nassau, Bahamas

Set along 3,000 feet of pristine white-sand coastline on Nassau's Cable Beach, Rosewood Baha Mar is a sanctuary of exclusivity within the stunning Baha Mar resort enclave, featuring 237 guestrooms, suites and beachfront villas, authentic dining experiences, exclusive beach access and a Sense Spa.

The Rosewood Explorers Club inspires creativity and curiosity for younger guests, while families benefit from access to Baha Mar's spectacular amenities including a Kids Explorers Club, Racquet Club with Pickleball, a Jack Nicklaus Signature golf course and miniature golf. Yoga classes with Baha Mar's resident flamingos in the Rosewood garden offer one of the most memorably playful family experiences available at any luxury hotel in the world. Two exclusive pools with luxury cabanas complement the broad Baha Mar poolscape.

The Family Suite says: Rosewood Baha Mar combines the intimacy and service of a boutique luxury hotel with access to a world-class resort complex. For families who want a Caribbean holiday that delivers on every level, from beach and pool to dining and activity, this is the one.

The Potlatch Club Eleuthera, Bahamas

Founded in 1967 as an exclusive escape for eclectic society, The Potlatch Club offers privacy, simple elegance, space to unwind and warm Bahamian hospitality, winning a coveted Michelin Key in the Michelin Guide 2025. Set across 12 acres on the ruggedly beautiful island of Eleuthera with only 11 suites, cottages and villas, this is Eleuthera's first and only proper luxury boutique hotel.

The Potlatch Club was originally built as a private residence before becoming a magnet for New York socialites and European royals in the late 1960s and 1970s, counting Greta Garbo among its legendary guests. Following a meticulous seven-year restoration by its current owners it has returned to glory, featuring a four-bedroom villa with private pool perfect for families, a restaurant, two pools, babysitting services and the kind of personal attention that only a twelve-room property can deliver.

The Family Suite says: The Potlatch Club is one of the most distinctive and genuinely special properties in our entire collection. Eleuthera itself is an extraordinary destination, wild and unhurried in a way that the busier Bahamian islands are not, and The Potlatch Club is the perfect base from which to discover it. For families who want something they cannot find anywhere else, this is it.

A dedicated Kids Club with a Worldwide Kids-designed programme provides world-class family programming, while chocolate factory tours, the Underwater Sculpture Park and sunset catamaran cruises are among the extraordinary island experiences available.

The Family Suite says: Silversands Grand Anse is one of the most beautifully designed hotels in the entire Caribbean. The 330-foot infinity pool, the Grand Anse beach setting and the quality of the villa accommodation are extraordinary, and the island of Grenada itself offers experiences that most Caribbean destinations simply cannot match.

Silversands Beach House Portici Beach, Grenada

Opened in 2024 as the intimate sister property to Silversands Grand Anse, Silversands Beach House is a boutique sanctuary with just 28 rooms and suites tucked into a dramatic bluff above Portici Beach, where indoor-outdoor living flows effortlessly through wide windows, canopy-inspired roofs and private patios framing endless ocean views.

The 42-foot infinity pool with ocean views, beachfront bungalows with direct beach access and the Azzurro restaurant serving Mediterranean-inspired menus infused with Grenadian flavours make this a genuinely distinctive offering.

The Family Suite says: Silversands Beach House is our recommendation for families who want the full Silversands experience with a more private, boutique feel. The cliffside setting, the ocean views and the access to Grand Anse's world-class facilities make it one of the most compelling new openings in the Caribbean.

Spice Island Beach Resort Grand Anse Beach, Grenada

The Nutmeg Pod children's play area offers supervised activities and healthy snacks for children aged three to twelve from 9am to 5pm, while the all-inclusive format covers dining at Oliver's beachside restaurant serving seven-course menus with Creole and international cuisine, the Sea and Surf Terrace, a weekly barbecue with calypso and steel bands, watersports and the Janissa Spa.

The Family Suite says: Spice Island Beach Resort is one of the most decorated hotels in the Caribbean, and the family-owned character shines through in every detail. Family-owned and managed by the Hoffman family, Montpelier is considered one of the finest small luxury hotels in the Caribbean with a staff to guest ratio of at least two to one. Children over the age of five are welcomed with a dedicated children's menu, while the Tamarind Villa offers two bedrooms, a sun deck and a private plunge pool ideal for families wanting additional space and privacy. Thursday beach barbecues with live music and the legendary Monday burger night are among the most talked-about experiences the island has to offer.
