Le K2 Chogori

Val d'Isère, France

An intimate Himalayan-inspired retreat in the heart of Europe's finest ski village, where 21 flexible suites, an acclaimed restaurant and the Goji Spa by Nescens await

At a glance

Set directly opposite the landmark Saint Bernard's Church in the centre of Val d'Isère, Le K2 Chogori is the fourth hotel from the family-owned Le K2 Collections. Its stone, slate and warm timber façade blends naturally into the village, while the interiors take their cues from Tibetan culture: Chogori is the Balti word for K2, meaning "big mountain." Fabrics by Dedar, Loro Piana and Hermès, marble bathrooms and Sonos sound systems throughout set a standard that is confident without being showy.

With just 21 rooms and suites across two interconnected chalets, this is a deliberately intimate hotel. Its nine suite configurations can be taken individually or combined to create private apartments for two to six guests. The Espace Killy's 300km of slopes are a free shuttle ride from the door, Le Bottleneck brings its celebrated braise cooking concept from Le K2 Palace in Courchevel, and the Goji Spa by Nescens provides serious post-ski recovery. It is worth being clear that this is a boutique ski hotel with a well-equipped games room for children rather than a resort with a structured kids club. For skiing families who value refinement, location and intimacy above resort-scale entertainment, it is an outstanding choice.

Why families love it

Nine modular suite configurations combine to create private apartments for two to six guests, all interconnecting without leaving the building

The penthouses (120 m² and 123 m²) have two bedrooms, a living and dining room, a fully equipped kitchen and double-height ceilings: the most self-contained family option in the hotel

The Espace Killy offers 300km of pistes across Val d'Isère and Tignes, with terrain for every age from three upwards

Free hotel shuttle to the ski lifts; the in-house ski shop handles equipment hire, boot fitting and storage

Le Bottleneck's cheese fondues and braise cooking make for exactly the kind of convivial alpine dinner that families enjoy

Bar 1954 serves afternoon tea and a light menu from midday to 11pm, ideal for families wanting to eat informally between ski sessions

Val d'Isère's ski schools (ESF and Evolution 2) offer children's lessons from age three, a short walk from the hotel

The Goji Spa's 12m pool, jacuzzi, hammam and sauna give parents genuine recovery time while the Kids Klub keeps children occupied

Le K2 Chogori's nine modular configurations span two interconnected chalets. All rooms and suites include marble bathrooms with double sinks, walk-in wardrobes, Sonos, Apple TV and fabrics by Dedar, Loro Piana and Hermès. Most categories have private balconies with mountain or village views.
